SHIBUYA WORLD OPEN 2025

A New Chapter of the Freestyle Football Story

“In 2015, standing in Shibuya, we felt it — the energy, the culture, the rhythm of the streets. It was a place that whispered: freestyle belongs here.

Ten years later, the prophecy becomes reality. Japan has risen as the cultural capital of freestyle football, and now, Shibuya becomes the stage for a new world open.”

Prelims - FOOTBALL JAM™ RULES

The Shibuya World Open begins with a test of difficulty, precision, and expression. Inspired by street cyphers and football jam culture, the prelims strip freestyle back to its essence.

Format:

  • Circles of 4-5 athletes
  • 3 × 30s rounds per athlete

  • Round 1: BIG MOVE → one explosive trick or combo (≤5s)

  • Round 2: NO MISTAKE → 30s of clean control and consistency

  • Round 3: FREESTYLE → open expression, scored on Difficulty, Execution, Artistry

Every athlete must prove they can do more than just one thing. To advance is to show power, stability, and identity — the three cornerstones of freestyle.

Finals — Shibuya World Open Battles

The top 16 men and top 8 women step into the arena. Shibuya becomes the battleground where culture meets competition.

Format:

  • 1v1 knockout

  • 2 × 60s rounds per athlete

  • Judging System: SWO × Flair20 Synthesis™

    • Difficulty (30%)

    • Execution (30%)

    • Artistry (40%)

This is the classic open battle format, but through the lens of Synthesis — where sport and culture are given equal weight. In Shibuya, it’s not only about who is stronger or cleaner, but who can tell the most powerful story within two minutes of flow.
